The man accused of stalking Keira Knightley walked free yesterday after she was unable to face him in court. Marek Daniluk, 41, was arrested in February outside a West End theatre where the Pirates of the Caribbean star had been performing. Eyewitnesses claimed the 6ft 6in Pole grabbed the actress's arm as she came out. Keira told police the incident made her "worried and distressed".

Daniluk was also alleged to have showered her with gifts and letters - one with "inappropriate content".He stood trial at Westminster magistrates court for harassment. But a Crown Prosecution Service spokesman said: "Our case relied on Miss Knightley giving evidence so we have had to discontinue the case." In 2008 Keira said she had five stalkers, prompting her move to the US.
