KEIRA Knightley’s beautiful isn’t she? I think we can all agree on that – especially if she doesn’t stand sideways so you can’t see her unfortunate protruding jaw thing.
But she can be a little bit hit and miss in the fashion department, especially as she has a habit of dressing as if life was one long costume drama. Her outings at the Venice Film Festival have illustrated this perfectly: one day a quirky British designer wow, the next ... well, not so much.
Dressed in the Dark was less than impressed by the Valentino Couture dress Keira chose for the premiere of her latest film Dangerous Method. Apparently the effect she was going for was “floating on a cloud of gold”. But surely this long-sleeved embroidered tulle gown is both a) seasonally inappropriate for a late summer festival and b) far too old for someone still in their mid-20s.
Much better in both departments was the Mary Katrantzou print dress she wore the next day: ultra flattering and this season’s perfect midi length. Anna Wintour shades too. Fashion jackpot.
